Project description by … Leeza SOHO is a 207m mixed-use tower development featuring one of the world’s tallest atriums at 190m. The design of the Leeza SOHO Tower by Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA), which opened in Beijing in November with a galactic light show in the atrium, reinvents the typology of the office high-rise. The Leeza SOHO features a huge 190 metres (623 ft) tall twisting atrium at its centre, which when completed will be the tallest in the world, a title currently held by the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai. Anchoring the Lize Financial Business District—a new business, residential and transport hub adjacent to Financial Road in southwest Beijing—the 46-storey Leeza SOHO will be an attention grabber with its iconic ‘twisted’ structure and soaring central atrium. The 172,800-square-metre Leeza SOHO straddles a new subway tunnel that diagonally divides the site. Structural rings at each level, four sky bridges, and a double-insulated glass facade unite the two halves of the tower together. Construction of the Zaha Hadid Architects -designed Leeza SOHO mixed-use tower in Beijing is making progress as newly released photographs document.
It is being developed by real-estate development company SOHO China. Once the 46-story structure reaches its final height of 207 meters (679 feet) in September of this year, it will be home to the world's tallest atrium — an impressive 190-meter-tall central tunnel hugged by two wavy halves of the dissected larger volume.
The atrium twists 45° over the length of the building to allow natural light to all floors.
Located on Lize Road in southwest Beijing, Leeza SOHO tower, The 45-story development, anchors the new Fengtai business district – a growing financial and transport hub between the city centre and the recently opened Beijing Daxing International Airport to the south. Leeza SOHO.
