Many of the cultures that have these marriages also do not support divorce in almost any circumstance, which further alters the potential statistics with a local bias.

When countries increase their economic value, there is a trend of increasing individualism which rises too. It damages social and economic development and leads to a cycle of poverty between generations. Because the age distribution of people at first marriage is skewed with a longer tail towards older ages, the majority of people marry before the average age of first marriage.
